Today we drove on the real road again. Mostly just 543 though. We went around my neighborhood though a few times. That was okay but there's a lot of narrow medians on my street so that was hard :\
I'm getting a better feel for Dad's car. I'm getting better at knowing how close I am to the curb and stuff.
I even drove home. Like up through my culdesac. That was scary. Here weren't any people out but still. It's not a very wide road and a lot of the people on my street don't park in their driveways or garages. A lot of them park in the road. Which makes it even narrower :\ but oh well. I have to get used to it.

Day 4: The Open Road
Today was the day. We went on the road. The real road.
Let me begin by saying it was terrifying. So incredibly scary. I got up to 40 mph on 543. It was scary because I kept drifting over into the right lane or off of the road. And then someone was turning into his neighborhood and I though he was gonna turn right away so I started slowing down but then Dad was like "No!!! Go!!!!" because apparently I had the right of way in that situation. Also, if there'd been a car behind me (there wasn't), they would have run right into me.
But it was exciting. I keep forgetting to look in my mirrors. It was scary.
I drove a total of 9.3 miles. Coooool :)
I don't know how long it will be before I can get used to that...hopefully not too long...

Day 3: The Middle School
Instead of the high school parking lot, we went to SMS. That whole parking lot is one way though.
Tomorrow we're gonna drive on the real road at 7 AM. Dad said that parking lots are actually a lot harder then regular road because there's not as many awkward turns on the real road. That's somewhat of a relief.
We went to SMS for a different environment. It was weird...I haven't gone to the middle school in forever. There was someone there for a church thing and she kept smiling at me. It was kind of creepy. But it was sort of flattering. She didn't know who I was but she looked like she had complete faith that I wouldn't hit her ;)
I managed to drive completely smoothly. I didn't hit any curbs and there were not buses.
I parked a few times pretty straight. It was awesome :))
When Daddy and I switched spots for him to drive us home, he hit his knee on the steering wheel! It was really funny. I'm so much shorter than him that I had to move the seat up really far. :D

Day 2: Panic Attack
Judging by the title of this post, I'm sure you can guess what happened.
Everything was going smoothly. We were in the parking lot at the school and I was driving very nicely and parked perfectly and stopped without giving Dad whiplash. And then...there was the bus.
There was a bus turning and I started slowing down but Dad said that I had the right of way so it was okay for me to keep driving. Well, the bus obviously didn't think so because he didn't slow down or stop or anything. I freaked out because I though he was gonna stop. I meant to slam on the breaks but I accidentally hit the gas and we hit a curb. Then I hit the break.
It was insanely scary. First of all, I was expecting the bus to stop or at least slow down a little because that's what I've seen others do with my mom driving in the past. That's not what happened though.
So I had my first scary experience behind the wheel. Let me just say, Carrie Underwood was wrong. Jesus DIDN'T take the wheel. I may be Jewish but still. :) ha ha.
We drove a little bit more after that. Just for like 10 mins though. That's okay. I was - and still am - shaking.
Quote of the Day: "Don't drive angry! DON'T DRIVE ANGRY!"
Haha :) from Groundhog Day :)
Daddy's blog is coming soon but still "under construction."

Day 1: Practice Makes Perfect
I. Have. My. Learners. Permit. O. M. G. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a 24/25 on the test!!!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!!!!!! :D I passed with flying colors, had a celebratory Twix, and had my first driving lesson. Let's just say....I'm not the best driver. Yet.
I have a problem with parking...and turning...and slowing down without giving Daddy whiplash. But I managed to drive safely around my high schools parking lot successfully!!!! Granted, there were no cars around where I was driving but I used my turn signals and everything!!!! It was exciting!
I did park in a spot successfully but Daddy had to help me. A lot. And I did back out of a spot and turn around without hurting myself or anything/anybody else!!!!!! :D
Daddy gave me a serious talk about how when I'm driving, am responsible for the lives of everyone in and around the car. Which kind of freaked me out. But that's okay. I'll get better.
My one huge problem has been taking the key out of the ignition. That's when he decided to tell me that you need to push the key in and THEN pull it out ;) thanks Dad! <33
So, in conclusion, day 1 of Drivers Ed: Dad Style was a SUCESS!!!!!! my card is awesome! Like, I actually look good in the picture! Which is a new thing for me. I'm not exactly what you'd call "photogenic." but I look pretty good ;)

Day -1
Well it's Day -1 on the Drivers Ed: Dad Style Project. I am going to take my permit test tomorrow so I can drive! Oh my goodness I'm so excited. I'm retracing the handbook just to be sure. I've taken the tests online and sofar I've passed all of them but you can't be too sure!!!
My dad will be making a blog that will link to mine (I'll put both this blog and my dads on my regular blog) so you can read our experience from both points of view. He hasn't officially created his blog yet (I don't think) but tomorrow, if I get my permit (fingers crossed!!!!), we're going to start "training!!!!!"
Don't forget to check out my other blog www.megsterrachel.blogspot.com !!! :)
